Having been a worshipper of the 'Sally Hansen Water-resistant Airbrush Legs' for many years, seeing this on the shelves, made me wonder whether it's a dupe! It's not :(, but read on to see why!
I bought this in Superdrug. It was on sale for £4.99 and this is what particularly appealed to me, especially with the 'Sally Hansen' version costing more than a tenner. This comes in Light, Medium and Dark in Matte and Shimmer finishes respectively - fantastic! I stood there for a while wondering which one to get, especially when there is normally only 2 colours to choose from. Being pale, I didn't wish to buy 'Light' and end up with no visible difference, however I feared that Medium would be too dark (as is the case with most 'Medium shade' tanning products). I went with 'light', and boy was it the right decision! The 'Light' Rimmel spray is equivalent to 'Medium' in the Sally Hansen range, however this isn't much of an issue once it is blended in (which is an issue in it's own right!).
This isn't a developing tan, and this is what counteracted my fear of it being too dark. I use such sprays on my legs - especially on special occasions, because this is where self tanner goes patchy. In my opinion, the 'Sally Hansen' spray is 'foundation for legs', it effectively covers veins, scars and discolouration, but the Rimmel one does not. When I sprayed it on, I used a mitt (which is what I use for the 'Sally Hansen' one) and the first thing I noticed was that this isn't easy to blend! Uh oh..:( I felt that it was hard work to get an even finish - it looked fine once blended, but there was minimal time to blend it in. Alternatively, there was no strong scent, and the ingredients are not too bad; fragrance is low on the list and there's no alcohol (ideal for mature women like me, who worry about the ageing disadvantages of alcohol). It's good for all skin types; I wouldn't use it on my face, but I'd say this would be OK - using a shower cap and spraying a light mist- it might make a bit of a mess though!
When I wanted to take it off, I found that it had flawlessly lasted all day (Fantastic!!!) and when I went to wash it off, I needed to use soap and a sponge, giving me confidence that it is very long lasting. I was wearing a light-coloured outfit when I applied it and no colour had transferred whatsoever - particularly good for the Summer when light and bright shades are in season! Considering the price and how it has worked, I am amazed! Definitely worth a go!
