Solait sun cream SPF 15

I had never before bought and used the sun creams from Superdrug but when going on a recent holiday decided to give them a go, influenced in no small part by the reasonable prices.

WHAT IS IT?

The sun lotion is formulated with a combination of photostable sunscreens to protect against UVA and UVB rays.The product contains Aquarich which will help to keep skin soft and supple when exposed to the sun The product has been dermatologically tested and is EU compliant

It will apparantly:

* help protect against DNA damage
* help protect against premature effects of the sun
* Protect against insect bites
* help conbat against free radicals

With all of these promises, it seems it will provide as much protection as some of the "bigger" and more expensive brands.

PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...

The sun lotion states on the front of the bottle that it is SPF 15 but when I read the back of the bottle, medium protection is SPF 15-25, which I think is enough protection for my skin when abroad.

the sun lotion comes packaged in a red plastic bottle with all of the instructions and information on the back of the bottle. It has a flip up to open flip down to close lid and the lotion is then dispensed through a small hole once the bottle is opened.

When I open the bottle and dispense some of the lotion it is not an especially thick lotion which immediately I like as some lotions are for me, overly thick and take an age to be absorbed by my skin.Like most sun products, I like the smell of this one; it reminds me of the summer and whilst not a very tropical smell, it is definitely pleasantly perfumed and summery.

USING THE LOTION...

To ensure the skin has sufficient protection, the lotion should be applied liberally all over the body and allowed to absorb and dry for 20 minutes before sun exposure.It should be reapplied generously throughout the day and especially after swimming and towel drying since bathing and showering will remove the product.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...

The lotion I have is Medium protection, SPF 15. It is also available in low (SPF 6-10), High (SPF 30-50) and very high (SPF 50+)

It is available online at www.superdrug.co.uk and also in stores, and costs less than a tenner for 200ml which is very reasonable especially when combined with the bogof offer

VERDICT...

The sun lotion is easily absorbed and fortunately doesn't require too much rubbing into my skin for it to be fully absorbed. I like the fact that because it is easily absorbed I am not left with bit of white cream sitting on my body, and also am not standing getting agitated in the heat because it refuses to budge. It smells nice and the product has proved to be suitable for children, as it has been used by Little Miss and caused no adverse reactions. I am not sure about the insect repellent which is apparently in the lotion since we have still been bitten but this could have been at times of the day or night when not using the lotion.

Regular use of the product has ensured that we have not suffered any burning and our skin has been left moisturised and so thankfully no peeling.

Given the cheap price and effectiveness of the product I would recommend it and will certainly be buying it again.
