      Sun oil

      Solait SPF 6 oil

I was recently due to go on holiday and needed lotions and potions. Tempted by the reasonable prices, I decided to give some of the Superdurg products a go.

I always like to use and oil on holiday especially during the last few days so given that this also contains some sun protection, albeit relatively low, I decided it would be a good idea.

      WHAT IS IT?

The sun oil is formulated with a combination of photostable sunscreens to protect against UVA and UVB rays. It contains Shea butter and coconut oil to help combat the drying effects of the sun and promises to leave skin moisturised. The sun oil is also apparently water resistant and non greasy. The product has been dermatologically tested and is EU compliant

The oil comes in a plastic 200ml bottle which is brown and has a pull off lid which when removed shows that the product is dispensed via a pump action spray. All of the information and instructions for use are on the back of the bottle.

When i press the spray trigger the oil comes out easily as a fine clear mist although when sprayed at anything but an upright position it seems unable to dispense any of the oil. The oil is nicely perfumed and definitely a small which is reminiscent of summer and hot days.

It is, as advertised, non greasy and when I spray onto my body and then rub it in, my hands are fortunately not left feeling all horribly greasy but rather they are almost immediately dry and the oil is absorbed easily into my skin. It still doesn't stop the sand from finding it though!

      USING THE OIL...

before using, the bottle should be shaken thoeorughly and then sprayed liberally all over the body 20 minutes before sun exposure. It should then be reapplied frequently throughout the day especially after swimming and towelling. It is suggested that it is not applied to the skin or to any irritated areas of skin.

There are the various warnings about using the product and about sun exposure in general including the fact that young children should not use the product and should be kept out of the sun when it is at its hottest.

the sun oil is one of a range of products available online at www.superdrug.co.uk and also in store. It costs under £4 for 200ml of the stuff, so not one of the more expensive products.

This oil has lived up to its claims. It is definitely non greasy and is an ideal choice for anyone with a base tan who wants to keep skin moisturised and supple when exposed to the sun. I like the smell of it and the fact that I don't feel like an oil slick is a definite bonus.

I am not sure about the claim that it is water resistant although water does seem to sit on top of my skin when in the sea but I don't think any of these types of products can be truly water resistant.

The one down side is the fact that it can only dispense the oil in an upright position which makes spraying on legs and such quite tricky.

Other than that, a good product at a very reasonable price.

      thanks for reading

      Daniela xx
