St Tropez make a huge range of self tanning products, the product I am reviewing is the St Tropez self tan spray. Also available are self tanning lotions and mousses, as well as gradual tanning products. I bought this self tan spray in Boots for the price of £20.49 for a 200ml bottle. The price may seem a little expensive, but as I only use self tan spray for special occasions (not that regularly), this bottle has lasted me over a year. I would estimate that I have used it around 15 times to cover my whole body.
To apply this product you simply spray it onto your skin to the area you want to tan. If you desire you can then rub it in. I prefer to spray it directly onto my skin and then rub it in using a tanning mitt to ensure I don't miss any areas. I usually moisturise the day before I apply this to make sure I don't have any dry patches. The tan dries really quickly, I usually put on clothes no more than 5 minutes after applying. This is important in a product for me cause I hate anything that takes too long to apply! The spray comes out nice and finely and as it sprays even when held upside down, it makes it really easy to apply even to hard to reach areas like your back.
I always apply this product at night before going to bed, and when I wake up the next morning it has developed fully. The tan develops into a lovely golden brown colour. It is always even and I have never had any streaks with this product, and I am no tanning expert! The product gives a light-medium fan which suits me as I am naturally pale, so don't like anything too dark. But for those of you who like a darker colour, applying it twice would be beneficial.
Another benefit of this tan is that the tell tall fake tan smell is mild, and will be gone after a shower. Some tans stink for days but that is not the case with this product.
This product may seem expensive but I think it is well worth it, because in my experience with the cheaper tans I end up streaky and orange! I will definitely continue to use this unless I find something cheaper but with the same quality. Anyone got any recommendations?!
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed my review.
