This years summer in the UK is astonishing, I actually can't remember one like it! Although, that's not saying much, since I can't even remember where I left my keys 90% of the time. I have a 10 month old bundle of mischievous delight, who happens to be afflicted with severe eczema. The poor little mite actually has to sleep in mittens to stop her scratching, and even has special pyjamas that are made from supersoft cotton and reduce friction from seams/labels etc. Her skin is so sensitive that normal suncream is akin to dousing her with acid, her skin flares and it stings so much it makes her cry. It breaks my heart seeing her scratch the living daylights out of herself, and I would give my hind teeth to help her. So although this is expensive at £20 a bottle, for me, it's worth every penny. THE PACKAGING The bottle has an airless pump dispenser to prevent product deterioration and contamination, which is especially nice to know if you're using it on babies. I feel as though the packaging is a true representation of the product, it's simple, clear and straightforward. On the bottle it states that this product is very high SPF 50+ and is ultra sensitive, free from perfumes, oils, emulsifiers and preservatives. This makes it particularly suited to very young children or people with skin conditions including eczema. THE PRODUCT The bottle size is 100ml, which is on the small side. However, since it's once a day application, a little really does go a loooooong way. Using the airless pump dispenser is a breeze, you just push down on the pump and out pops a nice sized blob, not too much so you end up wasting product, but not too little that you're forever pressing it to get enough out. The cream itself is quite thick, however, it sinks into the skin almost instantly which is a real pleasant surprise! I've tried lots of high factor kids type suncreams on myself and they usually take an age to sink in. The smell is almost non-existant, which is as you'd expect since it's non-perfumed. It doesn't whiff of chemicals at all, and once it's on you're left with absolutely no scent left on your skin. IS IT EFFECTIVE? A resounding YES! It's wonderful, my poor little itchy baby doesn't react to me applying this at all, and whats more, it's a once a day application! (can you tell I'm excited about that fact?!) Kids tend to respond to sitting still for suncream application as if you've asked them to remain still sitting on hot coals, so this really is a blessing. Inside the box is a little leaflet detailing exactly how much sun exposure you can endure while wearing this product, and they have individual results based on your skin type, dark, medium and fair. This is clearly a company that knows it's stuff! It definitely helps me to feel confident in the product, which is crucial when I'm entrusting them with the wellbeing of my little itchy darling. WOULD I RECOMMEND? Absolutely. I know the price (£20) is enough to make you spit coffee out of your nose, but from the once a day application, to the super sensitive formula, to the easy hygienic dispenser, this is a product worth it's weight in gold. And who's arguing when it's the health and wellbeing of your precious little devils? There are suncreams available on prescription for skin conditions, however, I found this to be unbeatable in every category.
