***WHY XEN TAN?***
I saw Xen Tan advertise in more magazine lots of times before so I thought I'd have a look on their website (www.xen-tan.co.uk) and read a bit more about their products. After reading plenty of information on their website about stars using the brand and awards they have won, so I thought I'd give it a go.
I decided to try the mist intense. I've always got on better with sprays then I have creams and mousse's!
***PUTTING IT TO THE TEST***
I exfoliated 1 week before-hand and applied moisturiser every day to prepare my body. I shook the bottle and sprayed at about 4 - 5 inches away from my body onto my arms. You could see the spray go on, which was helpful. I used a self tan mitt to rub the spray all over to make sure it went on evenly. I rubbed it in, in circular motions. The smell wasn't over-powering but it did smell a bit biscuity, but not as bad as some self tanners.
I waited a few minutes to enable the self tan to dry then I went to bed. The result in the morning, I was a bit nervous about looking, just in case I looked orange and streaky, but I was pleasantly surprised.
My arms were a beautiful light tanned colour and it looked very natural. There was no streaking and no patchy areas . . Not even on my elbows (thank god, seeing as I was wearing a short sleeved top to work that day!). Everyone at work thought it looked very natural and it was well worth the money. It didn't even have the slightest orange tinge to it unlike to self tanners which leave you glowing!
I was disappointed with this item when I showered, ok so I expected some of the tan to wash off, the more you shower the lighter the colour will get, right? A lot of the colour came off when I had a shower and when I dried myself with a towel a lot of it also came off on the towel as well which was disappointing. This did make my tan look a bit un-even in some places but it wasn't hugely noticeable!
I did still have a bit of colour left after showering so I just topped this up again, with a another few sprays of the mist. The colour does last a few days and didn't rub off onto my clothing.
It's the best self tan product I've tried so far, its also a lot cheaper than other self tanning brands and I think the end results are a lot more promising then some of these fake tans which cost over £30. This will definitely be a regular product I will continue to use and I would recommend it to others as well.
I think for the price its actually very good value and well worth £26.00. I've still got quite a lot left in the bottle and I have used it quite a few times. I would say there's enough in the bottle to do at least 3 - 4 body's worth!
The bottle did get a bit messy, so you will probably need to give the nozzle and the lid a wipe after using it and keep it up-right, as small bits tend to leak out a tiny bit.
I would definitely give this a try. Especially if you've already tried quite a few self-tanners and have had the same results as me . . Orange, Streaky, Patchy tans . . Not a good look!
