Peppa Pig Sunglasses
by sparkymarky1973 Peppa Pig is an extremely popular television show currently being shown on Channel 5 that has spawned a whole host of merchandising in its wake. There is even a Peppa Pig World located at the Paultons Park Theme Park! So it should come as no surprise that you can even now buy sunglasses inspired by the characters on the show. ... These sunglasses are surprisingly well made for something that is essentially just a way of squeezing more money out of the show. The frames are made of a light plastic that is fairly flexible and will take a little bit of abuse which is handy as we all know how rough and careless children can be with their stuff at times and pink in colour meaning they are probably best suited for a girl. Though the lenses on this illustration are dark, the ones bought from our local Asda are pink to match the frame giving everything a rose-coloured tint. That said, they are still tinted dark enough to block out the suns harsh glare and provide UV protection to your childs eyes! My daughter loves these and always insists on wearing hers even when there is only a little bit of sun. I am not sure how much they cost as they were a gift from her Nanny but a previous reviewer has mentined them being around the £7 mark and that sounds about right. Other similar inspired sunglasses based on this and other popular television characters are available from all of the big three supermarkets and all are a similar price. These though were always going to be my daughters favourites because she absolutely loves Peppa Pig! Read the complete review |

Peppa Pig Sunglasses
by bringingsexyback WHAT ARE THEY? George branded Peppa Pig sunglasses available from Asda and online. WHO ARE THEY FOR? Children, more specifically little girls, aged under six years. ARE THEY ANY GOOD? My youngest daughter had these sunglasses last April and they have lasted until now (15 months) ... without breaking or the dark lenses being scratched or dented. They have only a light tint, just enough to shield your childs eyes from the bright sunshine but probably not enough to prevent all of the harmful rays from reaching their eyes. The frame is made of thick pink plastic and decorated with tiny red polka dots, the eye pieces are quite large and this helps shield a larger area of my daughters face and helps the design to be ontrend with the oversized styling that is clear on the majority of womens sunglasses. The arms are hooked to sit comfortably and securely on my daughters face, they don't slip down her nose even when her skin is sweaty and the nose section doesn't irritate her either even if she is wearing them for a long period of time. I clean the Peppa Pig sunglasses with a wet cloth regularly because the pink plastic gets dirty quickly and shows up grubby fingermarks, the plastic hasn't scratched or scuffed though so it remains as surface dirt instead of becoming ingrained in the plastic. ANYTHING ELSE? The sunglasses I have reviewed are available only from George at Asda, but there are many Peppa Pig sunglasses if you shop in other stores and I think all the four major supermarkets would stock something very similar. I cannot remember the exact price I paid for them but I think it was in the region of £7, I remember thinking they were expensive for a pair of children's sunglasses but now I think they were a bargain as they've lasted for such along time. 5 Dooyoo Stars. Peppa Pig Sunglasses
by kezzabee Only having boys, I am always wowed by anything pink and girly. I am lucky enough to have 4 nieces. Two of which are 6 year old . I was shopping in Asda 'George' for my little boy some Thomas Sunglasses when I saw these. Perfect! The plastic frame have a wide frame to really keep to the summer trend. A lovely blush pink with ... the arms decorated with pale pink polka dots and the name 'Peppa' inscribed on the end, with a perfect little heart. The arms were quite stiff and the glasses as a whole did seem quite durable - I did not expect them to shatter if dropped on to the playground. The lenses are a dark tint and again have 'Peppa' endorsed on them. I always worry about the damage that the sun could do and even more so for my children (and nieces) so I was quite sure I checked the UV protection of the lenses in these glasses. They claim 110% UV Protection with 8 -18% transmission. Okay, so I am not entirely clear what that means but they were certified EN 1836. And I assumed over 100% must be the best? They are not specified as scratch resistant but hey, for £4 I took the chance! So - what did my nieces think of their sunglasses? - They snatched them off me and screamed VERY loudly! They both paraded around in them showing me how beautiful and cool they looked. For one of my nieces the glasses fit perfectly and she kept them on all day but my other niece claimed that the glasses hurt her head and the backs of her ears. 50% success rate is not too bad I guess! I was the best Aunty ever for that short while - and had gorgeous nieces for only a few pounds spent! Read the complete review |
