Hello Kitty Sunglasses
Advantages: Good eye coverage
Disadvantages: Bit big for daughter at the moment
This is a review of the white Hello Kitty sunglasses I bought for my daughter recently, to combat the sunny days we were experiencing. My daughter is terrible for keeping anything on her head, be it a hair clip, hat or headband so I wasn't sure how she would take to the sunglasses.
The glasses are white with dark lenses and feature a small Hello Kitty picture on the arm of the glasses. The label suggested they were suitable for 1-3 year olds but they are a little large for my daughter's face and she struggles to keep them on her nose.
My daughter loves playing with the sunglasses and will wear them for short periods of time. She has a HK baseball cap and likes to look at herself in the mirror wearing the sunglasses and the cap together! I am a little nervous when she is playing with them that she will break them but so far they have survived.
I paid £4 for the sunglasses which I thought was an OK price for the Sanrio branded glasses. We love Hello Kitty in our house so she can command a slightly higher price than we'd usually pay for clothes and accessories!
These sunglasses are really well made and as structurally sound as an adult's pair. I like the fact that they are a bit oversize as they give complete coverage and the black lenses are really effective in blocking out the sun. At the moment they are more of a toy than an accessory but I hope they will survive a few years and we should really start to get some use out of them then.
On the George / Asda website, the spec claims the glasses have an impressive 110% UV protection which I am not sure how you can ever score over 100% in anything but it convinces me they are the real thing and not a toy pair.
The glasses are great value for money and my daughter is fond of them. Whether she will get to wear them in the sun this Summer will be up to the British weather but I am hopeful! I only wish they did these in adult sizes as they are really cute and I quite fancy a pair of them myself!
Summary: A great pair of kid's sunglasses
