Hello Kitty Sunglasses
Advantages: Cheap, versatile and so cute!
Disadvantages: Reduces visibility
Before now I have never bought sunglasses for my daughter - what with this great British weather and all, I have never felt the need to - my summer shop usually consists of a new pair of wellington boots, not sunglasses. Early last month however we were preparing to go abroad on holiday which would have been my daughters first time and the realisation of all of the things I would have to buy soon hit me.
Among many of things sunglasses were high up on the to-buy list and without having to go far out of my way I found these Hello Kitty sunglasses on one of my regular trips to asda. The sunglasses are very basic and white in colour, which although plain, is very versatile and can be worn with every outfit therefore avoiding having to buy more than one pair.
The frame is rather large and chunky and the glasses have a dark tint which also has 100% UV protection which makes these glasses rather perfect for in very sunny conditions. I felt totally satisfied buying them and was happy in the knowledge that these would be very beneficial when abroad.
The description of these glasses state that they are hello kitty and although this is not entirely obvious, they do have a rather small but lovely picture of hello kitty on each side and a small hello kitty logo on one of the glasses. This however is perfectly enough decoration; I prefer the glasses to be plain, any more decoration could run the risk of making the glasses look tatty.
The glasses come in one size only however there isn't really any indication as to who this one size will fit. I found they were a comfy fit on my 4 year old however and they seem to have enough give in them to last her another couple of years. As previously mentioned, I have never had to buy sunglasses for my daughter before so I was worried that she wouldn't want to keep them on. There was absolutely no need for me to worry however as she absolutely loved them and she had no issues keeping them on, if anything she found it quite exciting to put them on.
The only real issue my daughter had with them is that they reduced her visibility because of the partial tint, she would often take them off to have a drink or to enjoy an ice cream as she complained that she couldn't see. Obviously a slight overreaction as she wore them any other time. This is however just a small issue considering they protect her eyes it's worth the slight inconvenience, having said that most sunglasses are tinted so they would all have the same effect regardless.
All in all I have found these to be a great pair of sunglasses, they are very durable, they have been dropped countless times and have also been fully submerged in the pool and they still live to tell the tale. They are available from George at ASDA for a very respectable £4.00 which is well worth it in my opinion. I would highly recommend these glasses, they are cute, cheap and moreover they protect little eyes from UV rays.
