The wife brought a pack of these home the other night. Neither of us are too into sour fizzy jelly type sweet, so I had to wonder why she had them, but she had tried them before and thought they were quite nice, so that's the reasoning behind it apparently. These come in a 100g bag. They are always part of a 3 for £1 offer in Asda over their range of Jelly sweet, but there isn't too much of a saving as the packs are 35p each. So it wouldn't be the end of the world if you didn't buy them on offer. The pack looks alright. It is a dusky pink colour and it has a small clear bit on the front where you can see the Wands through. The Wands are just strands of Jelly with a sugar coating. The strips are quite flat, and not too wide or thick. There is quite a lot in the pack and they are all stuck together. They are easily pulled apart through. They aren't that Sour, and I have to say that I would have these again as well. The Cola flavouring was strong enough, but not too strong and the Sugar coating made these that bit sour but sweetened them up as well. A nice change to the other Jelly sweets out these, and although I wouldn't eat these all the time, I would grab the odd bag of these,

      Try them

I have a soft spot for cola flavoured fizzy sweets so when my boyfriend and I were in Asda choosing sweets from the multibuy 3 for £1 offer I had to choose these. You can buy the packs of sweets individually for 38p though. The packet has blue horitontal stripes on it and "fizzy cola wands" is written in pink with a yellow and white background. The is a clear section at the bottom so you can see the product inside. There is also a drawing of a monkey using the wands as a baseball bat. That would be more appealing to children that to adult sweet lovers. These sweets contain no artificial colours or flavourings. They are suitable for vegetarians. The packet doesn't give any specific allergy information but the ingredients show gluten. The bag of sweets is 70g in size and a serving size of 10g is recommended. A serving will give you 35kcals, 0.3g of protein, 8.1g of carbohydrates of which 3.5g are sugars, 0.1g of fat which are all saturates and 0g of fibre and sodium. The packet was really hard to open and I finally managed to rip a small tear in the bottom. The smell of cola comes out of the bag as soon as you open it. I didn't find as much sugar as I expected on the sweets but there was still a reasonable coating. The sugar coating is not sour but it is not overly fizzy either so they would be fine for a child. The wands are a good size each and they have a hole in the minute. The taste is just like a cola drink that has lost its fizz. They were perfectly pleasant but not really anything special but for 38p I couldn't complain.

      A more than decent sweet

No fancy introduction this time because I'm running out of how to introduce a simple bag of sweets so I'll just delve straight into the main review. Cola Wands are another of Asda's 'kids' sweets and so cost 38p a bag, or once again can be bought on offer 3 bags for £1 making them even better value for money. The bag itself is yellow and red in colour and has a picture of one of the wands prominently on the front. The front of the bag also contains a quantity of stars probably to emphasise the wand and therefore magic theme. The front also tells me that the sweets contain no artificial colours or flavours and the back contains all the nutritional information necessary. On opening the bag you are greeted with a sweet cola scent that is really inviting and so I won't mess around and will simply say that I just had to delve straight in and eat one. The bag itself contains 16 cola wands that are about 17cm in length and are coated in a sugary substance. On biting into the wands you notice that they are quite soft but chewy at the same time, which I really enjoyed. As for the taste well they taste of cola and so are exactly what they say they are on the bag. The sugary substance is quite fizzy but not blow your brain fizzy and so will suit most people. Unfortunately however I like you're your mind fizzy so they're not exactly at the top of my list. Other than this though I was quietly impressed by these sweets as the flavour is clear and crisp and they are at least a little fizzy. ~~~~~Nutritional Information~~~~~ Calories - 259 Protein - 0.5g Carbohydrate - 63.8g Of which sugars - 37.3g Fat - 0.2g Unfortunately these sweets are not suitable for vegetarians but if you're not a vegetarian then I would recommend these sweets to you. They taste delicious and are perfect for children and adults alike. Furthermore the pack size makes them perfect for slipping into a handbag or a coat pocket and at this price you really have no reason not to purchase. So go on give them a go.
