I'm not really much of a sweets fan really. I do have a sweet tooth but this tends to manifest itself with chocolate cravings and sticky puddings! I do eat sweets but they're not the first thing I go for. So it wasn't for nibbles that I initially bought the Asda Smart Price Dolly Mixtures, it was actually for cupcake decorations for my daughter's birthday party! Didn't really want to spend too much on what was just an extra on the cakes so decided to go for the Smart Price variety over the more expensive ones - and I'm glad I did! Dolly Mixtures are a variety of different fondant shapes in different colours and flavours along with some sugar coated jelly ... Read the complete review

I have never understood why these are called dolly mixtures when there are no dolly's in them at all!! so I just looked it up and apparently it refers to the size 'small'! Dolly mixtures have been around as long as I can remember and I'm sure for a long time before that. They are made up of a mixture of fondant squares and cylinders in various flavours, there are a few jelly treats in each pack but no where near enough!! Smart price dolly mixtures are real value for money at approx 36p per 125g bag you can't go wrong, I do a lot of kids parties and find they're great for prizes in quick games where you just need loads of little sweets. The smart ... Read the complete review

My partner and I are always looking for ways to make our constant cinema excursions cheaper, and one of the best ways to do this is look out for large bags of cheap sweets to buy, rather than the expensive branded sweets or popcorn that the Odeon sells. Last week on one of our trips to Asda we spotted a 175 gram bag of Asda Smart Price Dolly Mixtures for sale for just 30 pence. The bag was stuffed full with yummy looking sweets so we decided to give them a try. The packet for these sweets is a classic Smart Price white and green affair. It has a sweet shaped clear part that you can see the contents through, so you can check out the merchandise before ... Read the complete review

Well, clearly the Foamy Fruits hadn't done the trick. Time was running out and if I was to persuade my wife to 'reward me' for my generosity that night, I had to rely on the Asda Smart Price Dolly Mixtures to put her in the mood. After tea, I opened my packet of Asda Smart Price Dairy Toffees, knowing that she isn't a great fan of toffee. Get me my Dolly Mixtures she said. Aha! The back up plan was working. I hastened to her sweetie stash jar and returned to hand over aforementioned confection. She opened the packet, whereupon it split all down the side and several dollies were mixtured down the side of the sofa straightaway - not a good start. Now, ... Read the complete review

I picked up a bag of these after reading a review about them. I liked the look of the picture on here, and also the price of 30p for a 175g bag was tempting to try. I like Jelly sweets and can't think the last time I had Dolly Mixtures. The bag design isn't that exciting. It is a thin cellophane bag, which is sturdy enough. It is white and it has a see through panel on the front where you can see the Sweets through, so you know what you are buying. The writing is in green. This is part of the Asda Smart Price range, which is the budget range in Asda. There's an alright mixture in here, and a mix of different colours an indeed flavours. There is ...
