I've always loved liquorice and especially Liquorice Allsorts as they are just the perfect sweet. So naturally when Fruit Allsorts came out I rushed to the shop to try them. I thought that they were going to be wonderful and taste really fruity which would have been great, sadly though it seems that Bertie Bassett let me down. This will certainly not be making it into my top 10 sweets although apparently people who hate liquorice tend to love them so it's good news for some of you people.
They come in a red 215g bag. On the front there is a picture of Bertie Bassett holding a sign which says "No Liquorice Here", not a good sign in my books. There are also pictures of what look like Liquorice Allsorts but coloured wrong, they are made of several bright colours each resembling a different fruity flavour. This packet costs only £1.25 and after eating them I found out why.
They don't really smell of anything when you open the bag so I didn't know what to expect when eating them. They tasted awful, these sweets come in a range of different fruity flavours but I have to say that all I could taste was sugar, gross. I have a very sweet tooth but not even I could stand these. They seem to me to be a fast track way to rot your teeth.
Overall I think that these are an awful sweet and absolutely disgusting. I would not recommend them to anybody.
