Please don't be put off reading any further by the way I begin this review but....
When I was a boy.... (anybody still reading?)
We always used to have Viscount biscuits with our Sunday night tea.
I'm talking proper tea time with sandwiches, sausage rolls, crisps and cake.
They were my favourite biscuit and I couldn't get enough of them.
Really, I couldn't as there were five kids plus two parents and only seven biscuits and sometimes my Nan would come around so you had to be quick to get one. She may have had a dodgy hip but she was like lightning if chocolate biscuits were involved!
As time passed by and my older siblings left home, the biscuit rationing ceased and I would often get two biscuits and if I was lucky, I'd even have one left for my school lunchbox.
So why, apart from the sentimental reasons, do I love these so much?
Well, they have a crunchy biscuit base, a mint cream centre and they are covered in delicious milk chocolate. A perfect combination in my opinion.
Wrapped in an emerald green foil, they look classy and quite possibly fit for a real viscount.
I remember coming home from school after being berated for my choice of lunchtime biscuit by the fashionable set who ate trendy Yo Yo mint biscuits.
"Mum" , I said. "Why do I have Viscount biscuits when the rest of the boys get Yo Yo's in their packed lunch?"
"Well" she replied, "In the words of Oscar Wilde, we are all lying in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars"
Which didn't really answer my question but I suppose was far more enigmatic than "Have you seen the price of them Yo Yo's? Do you think I'm made of money!"
Anyway... Another thing I love about Viscounts and mint chocolate in general is that I can eat as many as I want and I never find them sickly. Tremendous!

So, not too healthy but at least the mint will keep your breath fresh. Everything in moderation as I like to say!
As far as price is concerned, they retail at £1.48 for seven biscuits. A little expensive but they do crop up on offer from time to time. If you have never tried one then I strongly recommend that you give them a try.
Thanks for reading.
