Advantages: They are delicious

Disadvantages: It has to be the high calorie and fat content

Over Easter me and my husband both got several Easter Eggs each from both sides of our families and we have always bought each other one, Creme Eggs are my husbands favourites so I normally end up getting him a Creme Egg large Easter Egg, however this year when I visited my local Tesco they had totally sold out so I ended up opting for something else, however to keep the tradition of buying him a Creme Egg I decided to buy him a couple of bags of Cadbury Creme Egg Minis, not exactly what I was looking for but I thought they would do to go with what I had bought him, in fact I actually ended up helping him to eat them, chocolate is definitely a weakness of mine.

Packaging
The Cadbury Creme Egg Minis come in a small plastic rectangle bag, which has a foil inside to help keep the contents fresh. You cannot fail to see that this is a Cadbury Creme Egg product by looking at the bag as the whole thing is made up of the Creme Eggs distinctive colours. The majority of the bag is half red down the left hand side and dark purple down the right hand side. Right in the middle of the bag is a large yellow splat, this has the Cadbury name inside a dark purple oval inside it with the words Creme Egg written underneath, again in the same dark purple colour. The word "Minis" is written at the bottom of the bag in red chucky letters outlined in yellow, next to this is a picture of one of the Mini Creme Eggs with the top take off. The front of the bag really does stand out with the combination of purple, red and yellow colours. The back of the packet is also split in two with half being dark purple and the other half red. The back of the bag contains all of the product information such as a sentence about what the eggs are like, the ingredients, nutritional information and also Cadbury's contact details should you have a problem with the product. All of the information is written within white squares in dark purple writing so it stands out and is clear and easy to read.

The Eggs
The Cadbury Creme Egg Minis are basically what the name suggest mini versions of the regular larger size Creme Eggs. Creme Eggs are basically milk chocolate egg shaped shells filled with a soft fondant centre, this is mainly white with a orangy yellow centre designed to look like the inside of an egg, the mini Creme Eggs are identical just a smaller version., the outside of the chocolate shell also has a slight pattern on it. As soon as you eat one of the eggs you can instantly tell that it is Cadbury chocolate that you are eating, each egg has that distinctive creamy taste to it. You get about 5 or 6 Mini Creme Eggs inside each bag, these are not individually wrapped but are kept very fresh by the foil bag.

* Fat - 1.9g
* Saturates - 1.2g

When I looked at the nutritional I was quite surprised at the amount of calories and fat per small egg, these are not the sort of thing I would eat on a regular basis due to the high calorie and fat content as each egg really is not very big at all, although for a treat I didn't mind, however me and my husband found that you cannot really just stop at one egg.

Price and Availability
I purchased my bags of Cadbury Mini Creme Eggs from my local Tesco, although I have seen them available in most other supermarkets. When I purchased the two 56g bags they were on offer for 2 bags for £1.00, purchased singularly they were about 60p a bag, however it made sense to buy two bags as it worked out cheaper especially as you only got a few eggs per bag.

My Opinion
Me and my husband have always liked Cadbury Creme Eggs and these were no different. The mini version of these eggs are just the same as the larger ones, the chocolate is lovely and creamy as is all Cadbury chocolate and each egg is filled with soft sweet fondant designed to look like the inside of an egg. I did wonder whether you would get much filling in each egg with them being small, however when I bit into one of the eggs I was pleased to see that whilst the chocolate was reasonably thick there was also a decent amount of the fondant filling inside each egg. The Mini Creme Eggs are reasonably priced at just £1.00 for 2 bags. For me I think the only down side is that you do not get many eggs in each bag, however on the other hand this could be seen as a good thing because it meant that I could eat too many at a time, the only other disadvantage is the amount of fat and calories per bag, but as a treat its not too bad. I would definitely recommend Cadbury Creme Egg Minis, they are extremely tasty and make a lovely treat for the whole family. Overall I was very impressed with the quality of this product and would definitely purchase them again.

Summary: Lovely for a treat.
