Advantages: Reasonable price, good packaging, less than 1 calorie, nice taste.
Disadvantages: Contain aspartame.
Over the last couple of years I have lost a few stone. I have really achieved this by changing my lifestyle generally and by getting some medical problems corrected which has helped greatly. In addition to this I have been using water retention tablets, herbal weight loss tablets and basically anything else I can to help me lose weight in a legal way.
One way that I have been trying to save calories is by using sweeteners. I first tried these Canderel sweeteners after seeing them reduced in my local Sainsburys store. The usual price for 300 tablets is £2.93. You can also buy this in granulated form, in refills and the original packets. This full price works out at less than 1p per tablet which seems very reasonable to me.
These tablets come within a plastic pot and you can click one out in to your tea or drink. The packet of tablets is on a cardboard packaging with a hang tab for when its hung up waiting to be bought in the supermarket. The packaging is standard really and can be recycled when finished with.
These Canderel tablets are small little pill like sweeteners. They are white and they just feel like other sweeteners really. They have a sweet scent and they are very simple to use. I just drop mine directly from the dispenser in to my cup of tea and give them a stir. They dissolve fast because of their small size and I can enjoy my tea just as quickly as I could if using granulated sugar.
The taste of these sweeteners is different to that of cane sugar but it is not a taste that I dislike. It does take a little bit of time to get used to not having sugar but sweeteners instead but once I become used to the taste it was not too bad at all to use these sweeteners. The taste of these is quite sweet and it definitely makes tea up to a drinkable & tasteful level for me.
These sweeteners are great and less than 1 calorie each, this is definitely a plus point for me. This helps me to save about 100 calories per day on my hot drinks and I feel much better without being overloaded with sugar.
If you are looking for a sweetener that will calm your sweet tooth cravings when drinking tea or coffee then I would definitely recommend this. I will continue to buy them and besides the Tesco granulated stuff they are the best sweeteners I have tasted.
Summary: A decent sweetener if you don't mind the aspartame!
