Haribo Star Mix
Advantages: Taste great, lots of variety
Disadvantages: Can sometimes be a bit hard
I'm not sure where Haribo sweets sprung up from but they seem to have become one of the most popular bags of sweets now, and I have to admit if I get a craving for some jelly sweets, and I'm not near a supermarket and can get the bargain bags, I would always turn to Haribo.
I think personally the tangfastics are my favourite, but the star mix is definitely a close second.
A 275g bag of these costs around £1.35 depending on where you buy it from, they very often have various bags of haribo in places like pound land. I would say a bag this size can last a couple of days, as there are a lot of sweets in there, but me and my husband have eaten a whole bag between us in one go on a few occasions.
In the star mix there are things like cola bottles, fried eggs, cherries, rings, and crocodiles, all made out of that lovely jelly stuff that is incredibly sweet and chewy.
I would say that the flavours of the individual sweets all seem to be very good quality, and the cola bottles are my favourite.
The only one downside to these is that they are harder than a lot of other jelly sweets I have purchased, sometimes if I eat too many of these in one go I tend to get jaw ache. I find that supermarkets own jelly sweets are a lot softer.
I'm not entirely sure these are suitable for vegetarians, but I have never really checked, and I'm sure they have a massive sugar content and are probably really bad for you, but in moderation they are probably fine.
Summary: A great bag of sweets.
