Haribo are an internationnal company offering various packets of sweet aimed at children.
*Product*
Starmix is one of the most popular packs of sweets in the Haribo collection.
The sweets are described as being "fruit flavoured and sweet foam gums". The bag has a mix of jelly rings, bears, fried eggs, foamy lovehearts and cola bottles. There is various coloured and flavoured sweets.
The sweets contain no artificial colours.
*Packaging*
The sweets come pre-packaged in a mainly blue plastic bag. There is a clear section near the bottom where you can see the sweets contained inside.
The Haribo Starmix banner is big and noticable. There is a picture of the Haribo character in a rocket ship and this certainly appeals to children. The back of the bag has the ingredients, nutrition and details of how to join the Haribo club at www.haribo.com.
*The Sweets*
I will mention each sweet individually :
The Fried Eggs - these were popular when I was a child and are the shape and style of a fried egg. The "white" is soft and the "yolk" is slightly firmer.
The Gummy Bears - these are small and various coloured teddy bear. They are quite firm and are of different fruit flavours.
The Rings - think back to your childhood. How many of you can honestly say you didn't kid on propose to your true love in the playground using one of these? 2 coloured and fruity. A ring shape of course with a nice fruity diamond nestled on top.
The Cola Bottles - resembling the Coca Cola glass bottles of the past. These are little, chewy and bottle shaped. They have a quite weird taste.
The Hearts - a foamy and thick base with a light fruity red topping. A perfect resemblence to a love heart and one you could give to the person you love.

*Availability and Price*

250g for around £1.30 but I bought my 160g bag from Home Bargains for 49p!
*My Opinion*
I bought these for my sons party a few weeks ago but ended up bringing them home as all the kids (except my son) were unwell and my sister thought it best they didn't eat junk! It's a party woman!
I used to have these occasionally when I was a child but now I know why my teeth are so bad. They may be ok on the calorie and fat front but at nearly 65g of sugar per 100g, this is tooth rotting awfulness!
So when you open the children-attracting back, there is a sort of plasticy type smell. The sweets are very oily feeling and range from small to a bit bigger.
Starmix are just really a bag full of your childhood favourites. Each sweet has a different texture and taste. The fruit flavours are quite synthetic and fake and don't particularly taste of fruit. They are overly sweet and rather sickly and I started to get toothache after eating a few.
My favourites are by far the fried eggs as I like the softness of them and was always partial to a wee bag when my Papa took me the shop to get a mix up. Ah those were the days! The rings were always a hit at school and every girl had to have one stuck around their wedding finger. Never a Prince Charming there though :(
Haribo are trying to change these so that no artificial colours are used but personally I think they should do something about that sugar figure..nasty piece of yummy work that sugar is. Pffftt
Anyways, not too keen on these as they leave a weird and fake taste in my mouth but kids seem to like them but keep quantities to a minimum.
Thanks for reading
:)
Summary: NOT ONE I WILL BUY AGAIN IN A HURRY
