---Why I Bought This---
I get quite nostalgic for these old types of sweets and find them very attractive and aromatic. Starmix are readily available in most outlets and I got mine at our local service station.
Starmix is made by Haribo, a German firm that was founded in the 1920s by Hans Riegel - from where the name drived (HA-RI- BO - first four letters from his name last two from the city of Bonn). They tend to be the main supplier of these jelly and foamy type sweets.
Attractive Union Jack on bag.
Plastic bag where the bottom section is transparent to allow a view of the sweets inside plus an image of a spaceship with a Gummi Bear inside.
Gluten free, Nut free, Milk free, Free from artificial colours
Long shelf life - mine up to May 2013.

£1 for 160 grams.
Lots of other sizes available from tiny little 10p bags to huge plastic tubs more suited to parties.
Well as you can see above the bags of sweets contain eggs, cola bottles, rings and Gummi Bears - not in equal amounts though - which means you do not get many fried eggs, which I think are the most attradtive.
The bag has a lovely sweet and fruity aroma as soon as it is broken open, and with about 55 sweets for £1 the bag can last quite a while - so long as you do not go too mad.
The cola bottles have a lovely smell and the rings have a strong fruity aroma.
Being made with gelatine these are really chewy sweets - something I am not too keen on is gelatine, but I am pleased to see that they do now made vegetarian options as well.
This a well known old brand so when you buy these sweets you know what you are getting.
There is no nutritional value to speak of as they are full of sugar but at least if you buy these for your children you know they are getting something from a reputable firm - I always hated buying these sort of sweets where I did not know who made them - the sort of cheap rubbish that often turned up in son's party bags.
4 - would be five if they did not contain gelatine - but Vegetarian options are now available.
