      Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I bought a tin of this for someone as a Christmas present and couldn't resist buying some for myself as well. I'm a big fan of fudge and I do like Jack Daniels, so I figured this would be lovely, and also the tin looks good and I like the idea of being able to use it for other things. When I first looked at these in Morrisons they were £4.99 but when I bought them they'd gone down to £2.99 which seemed like a real bargain.

The tin is like a squashed cylinder, so the bottom is an oval shape rather than a circle, and it's quite tall and flat. It has a pull off lid which is sealed with tape, which I found took a while to get off as it didn't peel off as you would expect, it just came off a little bit at a time. The tin, as you can see above, has the usual Jack Daniels style to it, in black and white.

Inside the tin the fudge comes in a plastic bag and each piece is then individually wrapped. I think the plastic bag is a little unnecessary as they are all wrapped anyway, they would be fine just in the tin, but perhaps it does keep the fudge fresher.

The fudge pieces are just the right size, nice bite-sized pieces just less than an inch square and are a typical fudge colour, a nice light brown. As soon as I opened the tin I could smell the whiskey scent coming from them which made me worry that they'd be a bit too strongly flavoured. I can't really smell the fudge at all, just the whiskey.

The fudge is really soft, definitely the softest I've had in a while, but I love the texture, it almost melts in the mouth. And the taste is absolutely divine, I needn't have worried about the flavour at all, the whiskey flavour is quite subtle and just serves to give a bit of an edge to the fudge, and makes it a nice change from 'regular' fudge. Instead of the usual sugary sweetness and nothing else, the whiskey gives it a deeper flavour and takes the edge off the sweetness. in my mind it's a perfectly balanced flavour.

You get 300g of fudge in the tin, which I think is very reasonable for the price. There is no real nutritional info on the tin but I was interested to see that they contain no hydrogenated oils or fats and there are only 7 ingredients (sugar, glucose syrup, sweetened condensed skimmed milk, vegetable fat, Jack Daniels Whiskey (1%), flavouring and salt) so you know there's not a load of hidden ingredients, E numbers and the like lurking in there.

All in all I really enjoyed these and I'll be sure to buy them again.

Good present for a Jack Daniels enthusiast

Knowing that in the past couple of years I have developed a liking for whiskey and a selection of other spirits and that I also really enjoy sweets and chocolate, recently I was bought a gift box of Jack Daniel's flavoured Fudge.

Everything about this box of fudge is tremendous starting with the packaging which is very smart and is decorated with the famous black and white design of the old no.7 brand. I am not sure of the cost as this was a present but I can't imagine it would break the bank to pick up a box of this fudge. Inside I would say there are twenty to thirty individually wrapped pieces of fudge which means they will last a while for you or really good to share with family and friends, the box weighs 250g which is a decent amount of fudge.

The fudge itself is quite sweet but you can definitely pick up the flavour of the Jack Daniels, I was concerned that the taste of the whiskey would be overpowering as I have sometimes found with chocolate liqueurs but the sweetness of the fudge and the whiskey are in good balance making them very pleasant to eat. They are also particularly soft meaning they are not too tough on your teeth or difficult to eat and they almost melt in your mouth. Each piece is 40 calories and contains less than a gram of fat so as long as you don't eat too many they should not impact too much on a healthy eating plan or if you are trying to be weight conscious. All in all these would be a great gift or a splendid treat for yourself.

Ideal gift for Jack Daniels fans.

My partner has a great love of Jack Daniels whiskey, so when I spotted this Jack Daniels whiskey fudge in my local Morrisons, I thought it would make an ideal stocking filler gift for him for Christmas, as he also loves fudge.

You can find many Jack Daniels gift sets adorning the shelves in the run up to Christmas in department stores. A lot of Jack Daniels merchandise is quite collectable and various new items appear every year.

The tin that contains the fudge is very attractive, featuring the usual Jack Daniels logo and can be used as a handy storage tin after the contents have been eaten.
Weighing 300g the tin is packed full of individually wrapped fudge pieces, the wrappers also featuring the famous logo.

On opening the tin, the smell of Jack Daniels wafted up!
I was quite surprised how strong the smell was despite the fudge being individually wrapped then sealed in a plastic bag inside the tin.

The fudge has been prepared by hand to a traditional recipe by Gardiner's of Scotland. Information on the tin informs you that a generous measure of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Sippin' Whiskey is added to every batch of fudge, to impart a delicious and distinctive flavour.

          Hence the strong smell then!

I actually quite like Jack Daniels myself and sometimes have a drop with coke when my partner has some. Although I do not like whiskey, I find Jack Daniels totally different to other brands with a distinctive taste unlike all others. So I did not hesitate to sample some of this fudge!

Containing no hydrogenated oils or fats, the fudge however does contain milk and wheat which I am pointing out in case of allergies. As you would imagine the fudge also has a high sugar content.

The fudge looks quite smooth in appearance, just the way I like it.
Biting into it the taste of Jack Daniels was stronger than I thought it would be. It would seem it is right that a generous measure is used.
The fudge is also quite sweet and has a slightly sugary taste. I couldn't imagine eating a lot of it in one sitting but it's nice to dip in and out of.
My partner, on the other hand, could happily munch his way through half the tin in one go!

I think my cat could be a secret fan too, as I caught her enjoying sniffing the wrappers for longer than a few seconds!

Overall, Jack Daniels Whiskey Fudge is an ideal gift for those who love Jack Daniels. It is available not just at Christmas but throughout the year also. Amazon stock this priced at £8.95 a tin. Yes it is quite pricey, but it is a quality gift. I paid £7.00 for mine in Morrisons.

Enjoy the taste of Jack Daniels - without the hangover!
