Advantages: the icing on top
Disadvantages: very hard
Jacobs iced gems are a product that I quite frequently had in my packed lunch box when I was younger, they are a very good biscuit type product that are perfect for packed lunches as they come in little packets.
They are basically made up of two different parts, the bottom part is biscuit and the top part is icing.
The bottom biscuit part is pretty nicer. The biscuit does taste a little bit dry though and it is very hard however I guess if it wasn't as hard then they would maybe break up too easily in the bag, and you do find when you open these that the biscuits are usually in perfect condition, but if anything it's the icing that has broken.
The top icing part then is made to look, well like a gem I suppose. Its only a small icing part really but its swirled around and they all come with their own icing top on too. The icing itself is really hard too, making the whole thing quite hard on the teeth. The icing is sweet and does taste nice and they look good in all the different colours too.
These are great for packed lunches though I do rarely eat them now I am older as they are a bit of a kids product, but when I do occasionally have them I do still find them very nice.
