Advantages: taste great
Disadvantages: none
Rainbow drops are sweets from the makers Swizzels Matlow.
They are sugar coated puffed maize and rice. They are very brightly coloured hence the name rainbow drops.
They are packaged in a very brightly coloured bag. The different bright colours of the rainbow drops are shown on the bottom of the packet. Rainbow drops is written in funky red lettering. There is also information such as low fat, suitable for vegetarians and no gluten.
The great thing about these rainbow drops is that you get loads in a packet. So if you can bear to eat the tiny puffs one by one a packet can last for ages. They are very nice, tasty and colourful and are very appealing to the eye. When you bite into the puffs you get the hard outer shell of the sugar coating. It is very sweet and nice. I have found that some of the puffs have a thicker coating of the sugar which of course are the best! They make a nice crunch as you bite into the drops. I love the sweet combination with the plainness of the rice and maize. The drops although obviously they contain sugar they do not contain any fat. They are a fun treat but might not be everyones cup of tea.
They are quite cheap for a packet. They cost 24p for an 80g packet and are available from supermarkets and newsagents.
