Advantages: Taste lovely.
Disadvantages: Sugar,E numbers and calories.
Until very recently I had completely forgotten that Rainbow drops ever existed but the other day my daughter dropped of my granddaughter for me to look after for a bit and in her bag for a treat for her was Matlows Rainbow drops.
When I gave my granddaughter some I could not help but have a handful myself and they are as good as I ever remember. For anyone that does not know, Rainbow drops are a cereal type snack, I suppose you could say they look a bit like brightly coloured rice crispies.
They are very sweet due to their sugary coating and they are fairly fattening too with nearly 300 calories in 100g of the snack. My granddaughter just gets few in a bowl as a treat but I could easily eat the bag in one sitting and I used to have them in milk as a cereal as a lot of people did back then although I am unsure if it is still fashionable to eat them this way these days.
These are a great alternative to sweets and chocolate for kids and well worth a try for adults too whether it be to jog memories of the last time you had them or to try them for the very first time.
There are a good few E numbers in these so be careful how much you give to kids!
