Advantages: Brightly coloured!

Disadvantages: Sickly...

I bought two packets of these from Poundland last week. It was a £1 for two XL bags which contain 80g. I haven't had these since I was a child.

Rainbow drops are made by sweet manufacturer Swizzels Matlow. The packaging is blue with a rainbow going through the middle. The packet also has a window and through this you can see the brightly coloured drops.

For those of you who never had Rainbow drops as a child they are little puffs of sugared rice that are brightly coloured. The first thing I noticed when I opened the packet was the smell, they remind me of cereals. When you eat these they simply melt in the mouth. They are very sweet, even though the puffs are different colours they all have the same taste. The taste itself is not dissimilar to rice paper. I liked the taste of these but more than a handful would be far too sickly for me. Eating these is like eating pure sugar. They are also so light they don't fill you up at all!

These are great for children and would make a great addition to a party bag, they are eyecatching in colour and really sweet which children will love. They also don't contain any artificial colours so they shouldn't make your kids hyper!

I liked these more as a child than now, they are far too sweet to be more than an ocassional treat!

Summary: Great for the kids!
