      A novelty sweet.

This may seem like an unusual thing to review, but this reminded me so much of the sweets I used to have as a child that my nostalgic memories took over and I had proposed it before even thinking about it!

The product I will now review is - "Festive peppermint whirly lollipop".

My sister and my mum love going and buying my kids, and my younger (28!) brother, novelty sweet items from BHS at Christmas, this is where this was purchased.

This particular lollipop is beautifully packaged and festive to boot.

The lollipop is huge, around the size of a mug, with the wooden stick around 8" long.
The lolly itself is made of, what looks like really thin rolled rock, then twirled around on itself to make a huge whirly wheel.
The lolly is white with the obligatory green flecks going through it, green always equates to mint!
The finishing flourish is a large red bow around the stick just under the lolly.

The lollipop is boxed for sale rather than just wrapped in paper, it is anchored into a base to keep it upright, also if it is banging about inside a box it could get smashed up.

      Now...... the taste!

The lolly isn't actually as hard as you would expect it to be, soft enough to break small shards off, but not so you lose teeth or fillings!
The taste is perfect. I have never been a huge rock or mint fan, but this lollipop tastes exactly like the candy canes that my mother used to buy for the Christmas tree in my youth.

There is no nutritional information on this product, but I am under no illusion that this could be deemed as a health product, this must be around 98% sugar with there being 2% left for the flavouring!

As I mentioned earlier this was purchased for £2.99 from BHS, there maybe some left on the sale rail so to speak, but these will not be available until next Christmas.

These are however, available all year round, along with many other novelty sweet items and gifts, for more information visit - www.whatcandynext.com

      Thanks for reading x
