Spearmint Tic Tacs
Advantages: Taste Nice and low fat
Disadvantages: REALLY noisy when you run!!!!
Now I am confused as to whether these are to be called sweets or mints (I don't consider mints to be sweets you see). These (lets go with mints) mints are in the only packaging I have ever remembered Tic Tacs being in which is a little transparent plastic box. You get around 18 grams in a box and I think around 24 Tic Tacs per box. The nutritional side of it is this:-
It states on the box 2 calories per Tic Tac and zero fat although there is around 17.55 grams of Carbs per box. All in all they are a reasonably low fat mint. They do however contain 4 different types of E numbers which are E104, E120, E110 and E133.
Just a small fact before I start dissecting taste and all that, did you know that Tic tacs were called that because you hear a Tic when opening the product and a Tac when you close it (random I know).
Now when you pop the mint in your mouth it is quite refreshing (kind of like when you use strong toothpaste) and they have a crunchy outside and a softish inside. The problem with me is that one is never enough, I end up scoffing at least a quarter of the box in one go. However with their introduction of the very large Tic Tac boxes that they have conveniently seem to have marketed in petrol garages, that is no longer a problem. The larger boxes (offhand I don't know how many grams per box) are great but can ultimately end up being a very high calorie mint.
Tic Tacs come in this spearmint flavour but also Orange and Lime as well as original mint. I believe there is also Cinammon flavour now too although I have yet to try them. All in all these are great as a mint but be warned, they can become highly addictive.
Finally on the downsides to them, well there aren't many, They are around 50 pence a box which isn't exactly cheap and they also make a really annoying rattling noise which causes people to wonder whether you are really running for the bus or secretly practising with your maracas!
Summary: Not bad if we are talking about mints!
