“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Candy „
I am a big lover of sweets so when I was in Tesco recently I just couldn't stop myself from picking up these sweeties! The childish packaging called out to me and I knew that this was something new that I hadn't tried before. The thought of a review swayed me and I threw them in my basket!
The laces are a little waxy and take a fair while to chew but the taste of apple is there, not overpowering but delicious sugary and sweet at the same time. These are very nice but if I could improve the product it would be to make the laces a little less waxy.
I enjoy mucking around with laces, making bracelets with my nieces and nephews and other various jewellery and just generally playing with our food before we eat it, it's nice to get to act like a child sometimes! Actually, I do it a lot these days, but as long as I'm enjoying myself I don't care!
These sweets (as per most) should definitely be enjoyed in moderation as one 75g bag provided 207 calories & 25.5g sugars which is just not good for your teeth (or your waistline!) at all! These are delicious though and I inevitably ate the whole packet! Whoops.
I would rate this product 5/5 as I think the price is very good and the taste is nice, however, the lace itself could do with being less chewy as I found that I got sick of chewing after a few laces but I must admit I did finish the entire packet so it obviously didn't annoy me all that much!
These strawberry laces can be purchased for 38p from Tesco or as part of a long term 3 for £1.00 price offer in all Tesco stores & online at tesco.co.uk.
I know that I have been reviewing Asda children's sweets for quite some time now but I'm slowly running out of new ones to try and review so whilst out in my town centre a couple of weeks ago I made a trip to Tesco's and purchased six of their bags of children's sweets. Not only did these sweets put an end to my sugar craving for a good few days but they have also given me a new batch of products to review. This bag is called Apple Flavour Laces and they were rather nice.
The Apple Flavour Laces cost 38p a bag and contains 75g of sweets but like Asda's own sweets can be bought on offer with another two bags for £1. The bag in question is an eye-catching bright green and has a picture of a fun looking yellow alien chewing on the front. The front if the bag also tells me that the sweets contain no artificial colours and no artificial flavours.
The pack itself has a sweet apple smell when it is opened, which is quite enticing after a while however a slightly plasticky scent does creep through, although after trying numerous brands of 'laces' I think that this is quite common. The bag I bought contained 26 laces, which were 25cm long. For the price I thought that this was more than adequate. The sweets themselves are an appetising green in colour.
As always the taste is always the most important part and these certainly pass that test. The fruity apple flavour is strong but not overpowering and makes the laces very pleasing to eat. Unfortunately they do, like all brands, have a slight plasticky taste although this may merely be the scent making me think this. Overall however they are quite nice to eat and are certainly something I would purchase again.

For me these sweets were really delicious and their nutritional values aren't too bad in comparison with other brands and to be fair who looks for healthy when purchasing a packet of sweets. To eat in moderation therefore these sweets are brilliant. The pack size makes them great for tucking away in a pocket or handbag and the price makes them brilliant value for money.
These sweets are great for children as even now my brother and me like platting them together and then eating them - it just makes them more fun. All in all these are a sweet well worth the money paid.
