      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Never again!

      I've been eating Tic Tac for years now and I am a massive fan of the fresh mint which I find very refreshing. However, it didn't stop me from trying other flavours. I tried their newer acquisition which was Tic Tac cherry passion. I have tried the "coloured" tic tacs before; the orange, the cherry, the lime and the orange. However this one sounded very tempting especially since it had passion fruit

      === Tic Tac cherry passion ===

      Tic Tac is a trademark of candies produced by the Italian candy maker Ferrero. I was surprised to learn that FERRERO is the same company that produces the elegant chocolate Ferrero Rocher.

      == The box ==

      There are approximately 36 coloured tic tacs; Each Tic Tac weighs around 0.5 g. From my observation I noticed that the red tic tacs are more than the yellow ones. Tic Tacs are stored in a clear box with a white plastic lid which has a portable flap. The name of the product and the usual information are all written in a very small print on the rear.

      == Tic Tac look, colour and smell ==

      Tic Tac cherry passion drops are a mix of two colours and flavours, the red which is for the cherry and the yellow is for passion fruit. The drops oval in shape with glossy finish while inside they are sort of white granules compressed together. As for the smell, I can't say that the passion smells of passion fruit or the cherry smells of cherry! They both have exactly the same sweet aroma. They can only be told apart only by tasting.

      == The taste ==

      There are different ways to eat you Tic tac, I like to suck my tic tacs until they completely dissolve. My 2 elder children love to chew it instantly whereas my husband, who is not a big fan of these, would probably suck a couple of the spearmint flavoured ones to refresh his breath.

      I tried the cherry before as a flavour on its own but the passion fruit flavour was pretty new to me. I put a couple of passion fruit flavoured tic tacs into my mouth and I started to suck them. First of all, I tasted the sugary shell. The flavour was very pleasant but it didn't taste like "a real" passion fruit flavour. Later on when the sweet shell completely dissolved to reveal coarser content, another flavour came along which was a mix between something sweet and sour, again the taste was nice but it had nothing to do with passion fruit.

      When the passion fruit completely dissolves, it didn't leave any after taste but my tongue was all yellow.

      As for the other flavour-the cherry flavour, I did the same thing as above. The sweet shell tasted like cherry a bit and the white, coarse graduals tasted like a mix of sweet and sour with a hint of cherries. However, this time it left a nasty and bitter after taste and red tongue too.

      == My opinion ==

      Having tried almost all tic tacs flavours, I can say that Tic tac cherry passion is my least favourite one for many reasons. In my eyes Tic tacs are supposed to be breath freshening drops. However, unlike the spearmint or mint flavours, they didn't refresh my breath one bit. They were more like a sweet rather than a breath refresher. The passion fruit flavour was a major disappointment for me. It may have tasted good but it was not good enough to be considered as passion fruit. The cherry was alright but the after taste was very nasty and extremely unpleasant not to mention how they stained and dried my tongue, which I had to brush after I had finished.

      To be completely fair, I have to say that there are only 2 calories per drop which is the only positive I could derive out of a very disappointing combination but again it is high in synthetic taste since most of the things are not natural. I can suck the original mint flavoured tic tac with the same amount of calories without all the nasty after taste that I experienced.

      In short, it was a great idea to have a mix of two completely different flavours but I didn't like it. I was curious to try the new passion fruit flavour and it was a complete let down, it didn't refresh my breath and it hardly tasted like passion fruit. So in conclusion I don't think I am going to buy these again, instead I shall revert back to my old minty Tic tacs
