Flexibility is a key feature of the Magnum 8x143 LTO Library. It can easily expand from as few as one to as many as eight LTO-2 or LTO-1 drives and 143 LTO cartridges, accommodating changing storage needs without requiring re-configuration of your rack, adding storage columns or additional library modules. Magnum 8x143 offers partitioning capability, allowing users to create as many as four SCSI "virtual libraries" or up to 8 native Fiber Channel "virtual libraries" within a single Magnum 8x143, for the ultimate in flexibility and efficiency.

Field installable interface cards enable users to mix multiple interfaces (SCSI and Fiber Channel) for flexible connectivity options. Remote management is a standard feature on all Magnum 8x143 libraries, providing users with the ability to manage their data storage either directly from the library's front panel display, or from a remote location via a Web interface connection. Native Fiber Channel capability results in optimized performance for SAN applications without the cost, performance and reliability issues associated with other Fiber Channel implementations.

A standard 5-cartridge entry/exit port gives users the option to conduct bulk load/unloads of cartridges, increasing the net cartridge count to 148. Designed for 24x7 operations, Magnum 8x143 requires no periodic maintenance and offers such features as redundant power supplies for the ultimate in reliable operation.
