The 9084 MTC changers are freestanding devices. Each model consists of an electromechanical cartridge changer system and an MTC drive integrated as standard. Thanks to the number of cartridge slots, these cartridge changers represent a very affordable and powerful solution for data storage (backup) and archiving on LTO magnetic tape cartridges. The drive operates at a read/write rate of 15 MB/s (LTO-1) or 35 MB/s (LTO-2) and processes 0.5-inch cartridges with a capacity of 100 GB (LTO-1) or 200 GB (LTO-2). The integrated barcode reader guarantees optimum media management, ensuring fast, tape-friendly inventory of the data media in the storage slots. The system supports direct and random access to the cartridges. All the 5U-high models can be easily integrated into a 19-inch standard rack. The 9084-221F model can be expanded to two LTO drives. The 9084-221F model can be integrated directly into a SAN via a Fiber Channel link.
