IBM 3449 ... The IBM 3449 Tape Library provides an integrated, cost-effective, high-function, entry-level automated tape library solution.

The tape drive technology of the 3449 is based on a half-high form factor for improved reliability streamlined with fewer moving parts. It features a simplified tape loading mechanism and a simpler, more reliable path. The library can automatically clean the drive based on user-selectable scheduling parameters. The 3449 also uses integrity features in order to further protect user data.
