IBM 7337 305The IBM 7337 Digital Linear Tape Library provides an integrated, cost-effective, high-function, automated tape library solution for select RS/6000 models. It also interfaces with other popular UNIX systems and platforms through industry-leading software vendors. The 7337 is based on proven DLT drive technology and industry-leading library automation. Its innovative design incorporates 15 data cartridges and one or two drives in a rackmount or desktop configuration that minimizes the library's physical dimensions while maximizing available capacity. Its dual drive configuration enables doubled throughput, concurrent read/write operation, simultaneous backup, and fault tolerance. The 7337 is designed for capacity, speed, reliability, and ease of use. Employing DLT 7000 drive technology, the 7337 uses tape cartridges that provide 35 GB native capacity. The 7337 is also backward read/write-compatible with legacy DLT tape formats and has a native data transfer rate of 5 MB/sec. Implementing data compression, you can store up to 70 GB of data on a single tape cartridge. This gives you a typical library capacity of 1.05 TB with a data transfer rate of up to 10 MB/sec, depending on the data being transferred. This is equivalent to 72 GB per hour with compression on a two-drive model. More IBM tape drives
