FastSense technology optimizes backup rates and increases reliability by monitoring data sent by the host and adjusting tape speed to match inbound data rates, increasing drive streaming and reducing wear on tape components. The Tape Threading System uses optical sensors located along the tape path to provide exceptionally smooth operation and increased reliability. Any unexpected power loss initiates Dynamic Powerdown to brake the drive's double tape reels simultaneously, pre-venting media from unspooling in the drive, saving data, media and drive mechanisms.
