IT installations typically expand to include new technology products and solutions. Office space has often become more limited as more hardware is introduced. To tackle this, individual products are becoming smaller, while larger products are placed in standard 19'' racks. The Tandberg 2U Autoloader is a combination of both: the access of the common LTO and SDLT technology within an autoloader - body in two rack units allows large storage capacities within limited space and optimal integration in a rack-installation. Tandberg 2U Autoloaders provide automated tape protection at the price of a single tape drive. It is provided either with a SDLT600, SDLT320, LTO3 or LTO2 drive and can be equipped with 8 cartridges.

The Tandberg 2U Autoloaders offer a menu-driven, easy to read LCD-display for a simple handling of the device. The mail slot and cartridge emission is automatically controlled by the autoloader.
