I suffer from IBS and find that peppermint is the only thing that helps. I take peppermint capsules regularly and I was recommended to try peppermint tea also. I normally buy Twinnings but on a recent trip to Asda I noticed their 'chosen by you' peppermint tea was significantly cheaper 40 teabags cost £1.28. The box is green in colour and has a picture of a peppermint leaf on the front. It also states on the front that the tea is made from pure peppermint leaves and is cooling and refreshing, it also states peppermint tea is naturally caffeine free. The box is cardboard and can be resealed to keep the teabags fresh. Peppermint is well renowned for it's health benefits and can be used to treat indigestion, nausea, bowel spasms and pain in the stomach. To use the teabags you simply pop in a cup, pour boiling water and leave the teabag to steep for up to 5 minutes. Then remove the teabag. It isn't recommended to add milk. After the teabag has been removed the tea is a yellowy-green colour. It smells really minty, much like chewing gum. I love the taste of peppermint tea, it is really refreshing and I enjoy drinking it lukewarm. However, it is an acquired taste. A lot of people don't like it so it's like Marmite you either love it or you hate it. I drink about 2-3 cups of this a day. Since I have started drinking this I have noticed that I don't suffer from stomach cramps like I used to. It really has made a difference to my IBS, I also used this when I was pregnant for my morning sickness. It is also a great alternative to normal tea as it is caffeine free. I would definately recommend this tea it gets 5 out of 5 from me.
