Advantages: Natural, organic, full taste, unbleached bags, reasonable price

Disadvantages: More expensive than some teas

I received 10 free tea bags through the post from Clipper recently. As I love a freebie I was pleased to get these and have happily been trying them out for the last week.

The main selling points of this tea which are noted on the packet are that it is organic, natural and fair trade. It is also noted that the tea bags are unbleached which should be healthier and Clipper claim the tea is "delicious".

The bags are square in shape and come joined up in pairs, but are very easy to separate. Due to being unbleached, the tea bags are a more natural looking darker colour than many of the sterile looking pale tea bags I often see around.

I made cups of tea with the Clipper bags the same as I would with any tea. I tend to make cups of tea individually with a bag per cup rather than making a pot, as often I am only making one cup for myself. I use the water just off the boil and leave it to brew in the cup for about two minutes. I don't like my tea too strong and overpowering, but I don't like it weak either. I find the strength attained by two minutes of brewing the Clippers was very good. The tea looked a nice rich, fairly dark colour. Personally I add milk and no sugar, and find it produces a tasty cup of tea, with no added extras or any side taste or anything else of note really - just a standard cup of tea, but a good one!

You can buy a pack of 100 tea bags, 100g in total, for £3 from Asda. This makes them 3p per bag which I think is a very reasonable price for a cup of tea. It is cheaper than many of the flavoured Clipper teas which come in smaller packets with fewer tea bags and a higher cost per tea bag. There is no denying you can get cheaper tea than this if you go to the value products. However, I do think this is a lovely tea at a fair price if you don't have to watch every penny, and I would rather buy a natural and ethical, fair trade product like this if possible.

After using the sample I have been convinced and I would be happy to buy a full box.

Summary: A nice cuppa with ethical and health benefits
