Advantages: A refreshing, tasty and healthy Green Tea
I haven't dabbled into green tea before I got sent a free sample from http://www.clipper-teas.com by becoming one of their 'tasters' recently. I was very impressed that they sent me ten bags of Green Tea to try as well as a voucher for 50p off my next purchase. I would recommend joining their tasters group for new flavours and samples!
Onto the tea... Clipper teas come into a very quaint cardboard box, with a teacup on the front with leaves coming out the top of the cup. The Green Teas packaging is a light and dark green colour and quite plain looking, but at the same time unusual and eye catching. I think they are a very attractive box design that keeps your teabags dry and secure.
The tea bags are a neat rectangular shape and a slightly off grey/green colour due to being unbleached. To make a cup of tasty green tea couldn't be simpler, simply put your teabag into your cup, and boil the kettle. Once boiled leave the water to settle for 30 seconds or so to go slightly off the boil. Then pour the hot water into the cup and leave it to infuse. I tend to leave my bag in the water to get a fuller flavour but this is entirely personal preference, the longer you leave the tea bag, the stronger the infusion so you can remove the bag when the tea is to your liking.
Clipper Green tea I think has quite a mild flavour and quite an earthy flavour I have found, they are very more-ish and extremely easy to drink. The tea is very smooth tasting and doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth like other infused teas I have tried in the past. I could happily drink this Green Tea in place of ordinary tea, it not only tastes good but as you're drinking it seems to give off a calm and soothing effect, or maybe that is my imagination. The tea is made out of pure ingredients and so there are no nasty additives lurking in these tea bags. This drink is so refreshing it quenches your thirst on a summer's day as well as being able to warm you up in winter.
Green tea has very high antioxidant properties and is linked to weight loss by speeding up your metabolism. Clipper Green tea is made from the same plant, the Camellia Sinensis , this plant is has a natural caffeine content and thus Clipper do not have to add anything to their Green Tea, it also has less caffeine content than your normal teabag. Tea also counts towards your recommended 2 litres of water a day intake so you can drink it to your hearts content!
Clipper is a fair-trade company and has good ethical values, considering this their tea range is always very reasonably priced. These are available in packs of 50 from all major supermarkets for about £1.29 and Clipper often have offers on there tea range. As mentioned above if you join their 'tea tasters' group you can receive free samples and money off in the post, so well worth it in my opinion.
Summary: If you have not yet tried Clippers Green Tea then I would highly recommend it
