Tea in general
Advantages: I like it
I am a big drinker of tea, I normally have 4-5 cups per day.
I have one to start the day, normally Earl Grey or Jasmin tea. I then have at least one cup before lunch, in the office. I normally have English Breakfast or Lemon Tea.
In the afternoon I have another cup of the same and in general at least one before going to sleep. Tea has got a bit of diuretic effect on me, but I do not mind.
I drink my tea very sweet, with 2-3 spoons of sugar in each cup. I am very active and slim and I do not think that the high intake of sugar associated with tea has got a negative impact on my health.
Tea for me is what coffee is for many people, it gives a bit of a buzz and I normally drink hot tea, even in summer.
On a general level, what we normally refer to as tea, are the leaves of camelia sinensis. The leaves of tea are supposed to have an anti oxidant effect and in recent years there has been a revival of the studies on the benefit effects of so called "green tea"
Tea originates in China. there are records of tea in Arab books of the 9th century and Marco Polo wrote about the high taxes on the import of tea.
It was only around 1660 that tea began being imported in UK.
