Advantages: Has a lot of health benefits
Disadvantages: An acquired taste!
I had read about the benefits of green tea and I had tried it but I wasn't keen on the taste. I drink a lot of different teas and when I was looking for something new to try in Tesco I came across green tea with lemon. 25 of these tea bags cost me £1.
These tea bags come in a resealable tube, it is like a Pringles tube. This appealed to me as I like to take tea bags into work with me and a box tends to get dented.
Green tea is known for it's anti-oxidant properties studies have shown that it may help to neutralise the free radicals in your body that can cause cancer as well as being beneficial to cholesterol levels. Green tea also contains flourine which is beneficial in preventing cavities in the teeth and strengthen them.
To make the tea you are recommended to pour boiling water over the bag and leave to infuse for a minute. It also advises you on the back of the packet that you can add honey to sweeten.
One thing I wasn't keen on with this tea is because you only have to infuse the bag for a minute the tea is stil radioactive for what seems like forever before you can drink it.
The tea is a pale green colour and has a slight lemony smell. The taste I find rather plesant, the lemon adds a nice zing to the tea and I found it a lot easier to drink than just plain green tea. I did try it with honey as it is a little bitter, however I found that I didn't like it with honey. This like many other fruit and herbal teas is an acquired taste.
I would give this 4 out of 5 mainly because I have tasted nicer teas. It is however a refreshing change from normal tea and it is also caffeine free.
Summary: A nicer way to drink green tea
