Tetley Tea Bags
Advantages: Tastes nice, regularly on offer.
I never used to be much of a tea drinker, when I was a teenager and in my twenties I used to be an absolute coffee fiend but as I moved into my thirties I started to appreciate a good cup of tea.
I am not brand loyal and swing between what is on offer or what my Mother-In-Law is clearing out from her end of the world store, having survived the predicted Mayan disaster she now has an excess of tea bags (if anyone knows when the next end of the world is predicted please let me know) so in my latest assorted goody bag I found a 240 soft pack of Tetley tea bags. A 240 tea bag pack currently retails at £4.00 in Tesco this is a price drop and will be back up to £5.79 on the 13/02/13.
The soft pack uses less packaging than a regular cardboard box and foil packaging so will take up less room in your wheelie bin when thrown away. The pack is mainly blue in colour and has a picture of gaffer the head Tetley tea caricature, the Tetley tea motif 'Make time, make Tetley' is clear and makes me think that a cuppa will be nice and relaxing.
The tea bags are round in shape (does anyone remember when all tea bags were square?) this supposedly helps the tea circulate around the perforated bag. The tea bags have a very strong tea smell and smell quite nice.
To make a cuppa in a cup it is best to boil fresh water, pop a tea bag in your favourite cup and as soon as the kettle has boiled pour the water onto the tea bag, I usually let the tea bag swim around in my cup for about 2 minutes, I will then add a splash of milk and swirl the teabag around till the tea is the colour I want, I will then rescue the tea bag with a spoon and pop it in the bin. You can also add sweetener or sugar if that is your thing or not add anything at all.
The tea can also be made in a teapot, I find it is best to warm the pot first then add a teabag for each cup of tea (or 3 or 4 tea bags whichever is less) you wish to pour from the teapot, you do not need one for the pot as the tea bags are strong enough to make a nice cuppa.
The cup of tea looks appetising and is a lovely golden colour, the tea tastes fresh and clean and is really enjoyable, for me this is one of my preferred brands as I do not like teas that taste perfumed or peppery.
Overall I find Tetley to be a really enjoyable cup of tea. I do feel that it is slightly expensive so it is best to buy it when on offer.
Thank you for reading.
