Vita is a Hong Kong brand which manufacturer different types of drinks, e.g. Lemon Tea, Apple Juice, Orange Juice, etc. This is one of the local brands manufactured by Coca Cola Hong Kong. Among all the products produced by Vita and is known by almost everyone in Hong Kong. In fact, most Hong Kong people are big fans of Vita Lemon tea, probably because it's sold in all schools and we all grew up drinking this brand of lemon tea.
The drink is available in a carton of 250ml content. The box is mainly in yellow colour with a slice of lemon on it. A straw is attached to the carton box so you can enjoy your drink everywhere without the trouble of finding a cup / glass.
This taste of this vita lemon tea is similar to the "lemon tea" available in Hong Kong style restaurants. The base of the tea is similar to English tea but usually stronger. The lemon taste is also stronger and it is generally sweeter too. If you are used to drinking English tea then you will probably find this tea to be a bit too strong in taste. However, they are quite similar to what you can get from a Hong Kong style restaurant. If you are ordering a "lemon tea" in an average restaurant in Hong Kong, that's what you can expect to get. It is a very unique taste and deserve a try if you want to know what Hong Kong people love to drink!
Where you can get them?
Although Vita is a Hong Kong brand, you can now easily get them in the UK. I have done a search in the internet, they are available in some Chinese supermarkets and can be ordered online too.
As a Hong Kong-er, I can honestly say that I cannot live without Vita Lemon Tea. I will miss them even if I am travelling abroad for a few days. And I would recommend this to you if you like sweet drinks or you simply want to know what Hong Kong people like to drink!
Vita is a Hong Kong brand of drinks, and has a wide variety of flavours that would rival the Rubicon in UK. They are becoming more readily available in the UK, and can be found at most oriental stores, such as See Woo and Wing Yip.
The Lemon Tea flavour is perhaps one of the most prominent of all flavours.
Lemon Tea comes in cartons and also in bottles. The cartons are regular 250ml cartons you can find with typical juices. However, the exterior design is interesting and appealing, with nice simplistic design on it, with the lemon slice dipped in tea. The colours are bright and also eye catching.
~~~APPEARANCE AND TASTE~~~
The drink looks like tea, and has a nice water consistency. When drinking, it tastes sweet with a strong hint of lemon, but not sour. The closest UK counterpart is Lipton's Ice Tea with Lemon, but Vita Lemon Tea is stronger, slightly sweeter, and I prefer it to Liptons.
I would recommend drinking this chilled, although it is VERY refreshing to freeze this, and eat it like a slushie! It's great fun scraping away at it with a straw...
The drink is thirst quenching and tasty...
However, it is quite sweet and may have a high sugar content...
They can be purchased in a pack of 6 for a few quid at most oriental stores.
I love the Vita brand as a whole, but out of all of them, Lemon Tea is perhaps the most iconic and tasty thirst quenching flavour. They NEED to be more popular in UK as their juices and range of products are amazing, and I want them to be more readily available!
If you ever stumble across Vita, make sure you grab some of this, you won't regret it! It is one of the most iconic (and popular) drinks of Hong Kong.
