Advantages: Great Flavour
Disadvantages: Expensive
I've probably reviewed more types of tea than anyone else here on dooyoo - white tea, black tea, fruit tea, green tea... you name it, I've written about it. However, all of those teas have come in tea-bag form, and this review represents my first excursion into the world of powdered tea.
Described as "A tangy, full flavoured apple tea drink", Wittard's 'Turkish Apple- Instant Tea' can be purchased for £5.99 for the 500g container.
Brewing Instructions

Making the tea is easy - simply add three teaspoons of the apple powder per cup and stir well. It is said that the 500g tub contains twenty-five servings - but this obviously depends on how strong you want your beverage.
Ingredients
- - - - - - - -
It's always nice to see a product with a limited list of ingredients, and this is certainly the case with this tea; Sugar, Citric Acid, Black Tea Extract, and Natural Flavouring
Taste
- - - -
The flavour of the tea is incredibly appley, very tangy, and a lot more flavoursome than any tea which is brewed in tea bag form. If there is a disadvantage to the taste, it would be that fact that it is perhaps too sweet - but that's a problem that can easily be rectified by adding a little less of the tea powder than the recommended two teaspoons.
If you taste the actual tea powder, it tastes a lot like sherbet, and I have to restrain myself from eating it all before it even makes contact with water!
You can drink any of Wittard's instant teas hot or gold, and this Turkish Apple variety makes for a refreshing summery drink on a hot day if you choose not to heat it - that said, I generally prefer the flavour in hot form.
Final Word

Wittard's Turkish Apple Instant tea is a really delicious, and whilst lacking the subtle flavours of tea bag based tea, it will give you a tangy blast of apple which is really quite delicious - recommended.
