Some attraction as well as some inconvenience (3 Mobile Phone Network)

Advantages: Skype, PAYG price flexible

Disadvantages: Network coverage unreliable

I bought a PAYG 3 mobile a year ago because of its Skype feature. It is a second-handed white colour 3 phone from Ebay. Although I use Skype mainly, I occasionally make phone calls and send text messages through 3.

Network
The coverage of network is acceptable though quite often there is no signal in rural area. The reception is also bad, sometimes unavailable, when inside buildings or houses. It is very inconvenient that I have to walk across my house in order to send a message.

Price
3 mobile charges standard rate for PAYG, which does not make it any different from other network on the market. But if you turn existing credits into 'add-on', you can enjoy double or three times more minutes or texts within 30 days period. Customers can also buy Internet 'add-on', which allows you from one-day browsing to 30 days usage. I personally think PAYG in 3 provides more flexibility for customers in terms of price.

Customer service
Every now and then 3 sends alert messages for most up-to-date information about its network and any change in price, which I feel quite convenient. On the other hand, however, a friend of mine who wanted to end contract with 3 ended up signing a new one with them, only to find out her 'special' incentive was exactly the same with the latest promotion. I believe the company is capable of providing good service, yet it does not cover every aspect.

Overall, because of Skype 3 network has good competitive edge on the market. Its PAYG price option and add-on are also attractive. However, network coverage lets it down. If other network company can provide better coverage with Skype feature, I will consider to change.

Summary: I will not stick to this one if there's better option
