... am going to tell you about my experience with Tiscali. They were meant to give me an 8gb package for home broadband. Firstly the moden/rotuer that they were meant to supply never turned up after following them up a few times they never responded and I never got the router that came with the package. Then when I have experienced internet problems they will disconnect the line on you while you are in the que waiting to talk to one of their technical support helpine reps. When I finally got through they only let me know that for the last 2 years of billing they had not ever given me the 8gb package that I was signed up for. ... have only ever had two broadband service providers - BT and O2 - and of those two the latter is far and away the better. The views below are my own and are far from exaustive. Whilst I will talk a bit about my reasons for choosing O2, I only feel qualified to tlak about my experience of O2 broadband. Disclaimer over, let s get on ... Firstly the cost. As I have a mobile phone I was uninterested in any pakcages that offered phone and internet combined. I was willing to pay the basic BT line rental and then look elsewhere for a unique internet package. ... ve been with O2 for years because I think their tarriffs are fair and customer service has always been brill. I m on pay as you go on the O2 Unlimited tariff and that suits me wicked because nearly everyone in my phonebook is on O2 so by topping up £15.00 a month I get unlimited calls and texts to them. The price to phone another network is quite high on this tariff though, especially to ring Vodafone because I ve got 2 mates on Voda and a quick 2 minute phonecall to them costs me about £1.00. If you top up £10.00 you get unlimited texts to O2 but still have to pay for the calls so I reckon it s worth the extra fiver to get the free phone calls as well. Other tariff...
