Advantages: Pay by standing order, no cut-off, Not 'Unlimited'
Disadvantages: Getting Popular
Update ****** This was the best pre-pay ISP I've ever used, but probably a bit too cheap. Unfortunately Alphaphe have lost their backer & are pulling the plug on the 0808 service, probably sometime today. They intend to offer refunds (Users can request one from their homepage) They hope to return if they can secure new backing, I hope so, but it seems unlikely to me. ************************************ AlphaPhe offer a variety of unmetered packages starting from £5.99 for evening & weekend usage. 24/7 is £11.99 at the moment and weekday daytime only is £8.99 Payment is on a monthly basis by standing order, cheque or Cyber Cash, Payment by credit card incurs an extra charge. Uniquely a graph of service availability for the previous 24 hours can be viewed by all on their website. Usage & cut-offs are restricted by INM points - Currently if you use less than 5 hours per day cut-off time is unlimited. Use more than 5 hours & you start scoring INM points - Reach 20 & you will only have 0845 access for the next day. Use 5 hours or under & points are deducted. Packages include free web space & unlimited email addresses. They intend to keep the contention ratio at 15 - 1 or below. I would expect some of the current terms & conditions to change as the service gets busy, but those behind this ISP seem to have put a lot more thought into providing a good service than many others.
