I’ve read lots of really bad opinions on here about AOL and that’s why I have been for forced to write my own opinion because I really don’t see why AOL is all that bad. I have been using AOL for the past 4 years and yes I have to admit when I fist started I did complain about the cost, my phone bill’s were massive and ... Read the complete review

At the time of writing this, there are already 224 opinions on AOL in general, and AOL flat rate, the recommendation 51%. Why? I wonder does this ISP make so many people want to give their point of view. It seems that whether you have personal experience or not, everyone has something to say about this companies service. My experience is that ... Read the complete review

I'm in a love/hate relationship with AOL. I love it's adorable little extras and fast access - then it goes an upgrades itself and makes me wipe half the stuff off my hard drive - THE B*ST**D! I've got an old computer. It only has a limited amount of space. I've been a professional photographer so naturally I've got ... Read the complete review

WE have AOL as out internet server. Yes I much prefer it to Tinyonline and freeserve and NTL as well, but there are some gripes! I dont know about any of you fellow AOL users, but I just can never dial up! It says the numbers dont exsist, or that it is engaged or just temporary faults. I would except this if it didnt go on aaaaaaall day! ... Read the complete review

I have been connected to the internet via AOL for about six months now and it has been a long and tiring time trying to actually get on the internet. Every evening at about 8pm I sit down at my computer to surf the net, and then after all the troubles with my computor I expect to be on the net quickly. But I was very wrong, it takes nearly half an ... Read the complete review

Probably the first company offering a flat rate. At last what every net freak wanted! (Including me I might add) I thought "great" after pursuading my mother to sign-up which was easy, we were away. Although our bills have been drastically cut, half the free phone numbers do not work, it prompts me every month or so to change the number ... Read the complete review

I am about to reveal my self as the queen of irritating smugness now. That is - thanks to the joy of Blueyonder broadband cable, I have been free of the need for connection to a standard service provider, for over a year. However, I think my advice here applies just as well to people who haven't got ADSL or cable modem connections - ... Read the complete review

AOL, otherwise known as America On Line, has swept into Britain and effortlessly stolen a large share of the internet users market. While BT floundered and NTL kept promising a flat rate but delaying, AOL came forward with their £15 a month, surf as much as you like deal and most people signed up. The number of AOL reviews is testament to their ... Read the complete review

Umm….is that boo's and hiss's I can hear? Guess I mentioned AOL huh. Recommend AOL or even speak of them and you always get a mixed reaction. I have been an AOL user twice in the last 2 years and this second time I have actually stuck with them. Whether you like AOL or not according to a recent survey** they ranked ... I have only been a computer user for 8 months when my new p.c was delivered it came with a bundle of so called free internet access, of course these are not really free as you have a whopping phone bill, that is if you spend as much time as me online after sifting through all the choices of internet access before me, I was finally drawn to the aol ... AOL hooks people through its free trial offer. You try it, set up your e mail address and off you go. Once you've let everyone know what your e mail address is its a real pain in the ass having to let them all know when you change(if you change). I think this is what they bank on. In my case I didn't even have this option as I ... Read the complete review

I have had over 10 Isps during the time I have been using the internet and AOL clearly stands out to me as the best one of the lot. Using AOL I get download speeds of 5.80k/sec constantly all the way through downloads. However this is not the best thing about AOL. The best feature about AOL is a totally unique feature in the UK. AOL is the only ... Read the complete review

I got an AOL free trial a few months ago to try it out since I loved the way it told you you had mail as soon as it came, and how you could access it all from the web when you're on holiday in a cyber cafe, but in the end, I decided to cancel the trial. Why? Well first, when I install it was kind of slow spending like five minutes ... Read the complete review

I'm gonna play the AOL's advocate here. I've had AOL6 installed for 3 days as of 08/07/01, and I haven't had a problem so far. In fact AOL has been one of the more stable apps on my PC (mine's full of gunk atm and most things crash at some point :( ). We got a £300 phone bill the other day and decided that we'd ... After purchasing my first PC many years ago, being a relative novice, I duly purchased a copy of PC World in order to expend my knowledge about computers. However on the front cover was an AOL CD offering one month's free Internet time. Being the novice that I was, I installed the AOL software, to take advantage of the free trial, ... Having tried several service providers in the past, in my opinion AOL has got to be one of the best around for value. Firstly if you need to speak to tech support a lot of providers charge you to call them. With this provider it's free. Also there isn't any cut of time, so you can normally spend as long as you like on line, without having ... Read the complete review

My husband and I changed to AOL after the service from Freeserve became so bad it was impossible to connect at times. The reason we had steered clear in the past was that you paid £9.99 to subscribe to AOL, and then on top of that still paid 1p per minute for your time spent online, and even 1 hour a night adds up to nearly £10, adding at least ... I have been using the AOL anytime service for about 10 months, this means I pay a flat monthly fee and I get unlimited access to Internet for free, however just recently the service has deteriorated.
