Greedy and dishonest! (AOL Broadband)

AOL may be one of the biggest internet service providers on the planet but they are also THE worst. Not only do they offer very poor value for money with their speeds and costs but they also try to trap you in their greedy claws for life.

In order to change internet service provider whilst on a contract with someone you need a thing called a migration code and you should be able to just ask your current supplier for this and they come to an agreement with you to be new supplier.

I tried getting one of these codes out of AOL because there service was severely letting me down and I wished to change provider. They at first refused point blank to give me one and said that they had contacted the supplier I intended to go with and they had no request to supply me but when I contacted them I was told that AOL had never asked anything about my intended contract and in fact had not been in touch at all.

They were simply trying to block my move to another provider and when they eventually realised they had no choice they agreed to give me the code and told me it would be active in two days, in reality it took over a week to be active and was just another attempt to keep me hanging on. After I had moved the problems continued when AOL kept taking payments from my card that I had set up the contract on and this took a bank manager and several weeks to sort out.

Their service is poor and there customer relations and ways of working are much poorer so just stay well clear of them would be my advice!

Summary: Never be fooled into going with these people, you will regret it.
