This service is now operated by Tiscali, one of the UK's largest Internet Service Providers. The telephone service (now known as Tiscali Smart Talk), offer daytime rates of only 2p/min - Compared to 8p/min for BT national calls, this is a fantastic saving. You can also use the service from an Orange mobile phone for no extra charge. We have been using AXS for international calls for some time now and are delighted with the savings compared with BT. I am not up with the latest in the market and there may be companies that are even cheaper now. But AXS is certainly good value. They take £25 from your credit card and dip into it for each call until it is down to £5 and then they take another £25. So you are giving them a permanent credit for up to £25 which no doubt earns them some interest. But the calls are so cheap (compared with what we have been used to) that I don't mind.
