Be UnlimitedNewest Review: ... I asked this as I had read that the one they supply is not very good. The answer I got was in a very disinterested voice and told me that they would not be able to supply any support if I used any other router. I followed up by saying "are you telling me that you would not be able to offer any support at all if I use a different router" His answer was again lethargic in the ... more |

Having read the reviews of Be I thought that perhaps it might be worth switching to them. So I rang their sales line to ask some questions. My first question was "I have my own Netgear router, can I use that" I asked this as I had read that the one they supply is not very good. The answer I got was in a very disinterested voice and told me that they would not be able to supply any support if I used any other router. I followed up by saying "are you telling me that you would not be able to offer any support at all if I use a different router" His answer was again lethargic in the extreme and quite honestly I couldn't really understand ... Having cancelled my subscription to Sky television, broadband and telephone services earlier on in the year to help save some money on the monthly bills, getting reconnected to a high speed internet service was a priority for me, such is my reliance on things like the BBC iPlayer and access to high speed downloads from iTunes and similar services. With a potential house move on the agenda in the next few months, I didn't want to be tied into a service for a long time, and find that I'd have to pay for reconnection fees, transfer fees, administrative fees or any other such nonsense that would make a potential bargain far less cheaper in the long ... Generally speaking most internet service providers are a bunch of cowboys. They'll sign you up for 12 to 18 months, promising download speeds superior to those of their competitors but once you've signed up, the reality is that you will most likely get a fraction of the speeds that they claimed you would get. The only thing that can combat such practices is healthy competition and luckily that's where BE Unlimited come in. This is going to be a long review but bear with me. Hopefully at the end of it, worst case scenario is that you may understand how to get the best out of your current service provider. Ideally you will see the light and do ... Read the complete review

I have been connected to Be internet's basic package for 4 months. For £13.50 a month I get unlimited access at super fast speeds. After I signed up, online, I received the startup pack within a week. The instructions were clear and there is a cd to put straight into your computer to set everything up. Worked first time for me. In the time it takes to receive the startup pack Be offer a dial-up service so you are connected as soon as you signup which I thought was a nice touch. I receive emails every month prior to the direct debit to warn me which is useful. The internet access provided has had very few interruptions in the time I have ... Read the complete review

Excellent Service.
Even though I'm an IT professional in IT for over 20 odd years now, I am fascinated by BE's ability :
+ to connect a new customer so quickly (BT never ever gets that sorted)
+Maintain an infrastructure for such a fast access - which it is, throughout the day. Example: My 24Meg line reaches from 9M to 15M througout the day. THAT IS GREAT. To compare : British Telecom sells an 8MBit line that the day through did (over a year) never exceed 1MBit. BE, you guys are great !
+ Treat their customers as if they are welcome. I'm not used to that coming from British Telecom (who actually treat each customer like s***t everytime). BE I love you too.
+ professionally deal with service-interruptions (which are just natural to happen). But with BE I just know when and what. Thats how it should be.
