Never got the chance to use this ISP. As they took my money and I could never connect. - Advantages: None - Disadvantages: Plenty, Never usedas could not connect, Lost £25.00 Subcription

After many months of happy surfing with Freeserve Off-peak I felt like a change. Freeserve was ok but due to a slowly decaying service I thought I would look around. Numerous one-off payment internet service providers started up in 1999 and 2000 and promptly folded due to "oversubscription". But I thought that these problems were a thing of the past, surely things had moved on and British isp companies had caught up with the rest of the world. Today I contacted trading standards as advised in a previous quote, the response I had from them was good for some but not for all. It would appear as previously posted that trading standards have been in contact with Mr Sterling (MD of BBS) following a number of complaints made by the BBS user base. The advice offered by trading standards is that BBS have set up certain criteria which if you meet will enable you to claim a full refund of monies paid to them. I haven’t read any of the other reviews for this company, I don’t need to. Most of the positive reviews will be out of date anyhow. My experience alone should be enough to put anyone off, even if one or two people have been lucky enough to get some sort of service from them. When Telnet pulled out of the UK market in June I was left without an ISP. I fancied a 24/7 service for a fixed monthly rate and considered the BT Anytime package. I then heard of the amazing BigBlueSky offer; for a one off fee of £25 they would give me a 24/7 free ‘0800’ Internet connection for life. Yeah right, and pigs would no doubt fly.
