Advantages: Stable provider

Disadvantages: Products are very suspect and staff don't have any answers for you at all

They say loyalty in life when it comes to suppliers gets you nowhere and I fully agree with that, but nevertheless, I find myself sticking to BT despite endless, and I do mean endless, problems with them since moving in with my partner, now husband, 3 years ago.

I have always been a BT customer since needing broadband around 6 or 7 years ago and have generally found the broadband service to be fine and have no complaints with the help I received in setting that up initially and with setting up my email accounts, but now is a different story to say the least.

Since moving into our new house, we decided to go for the BT Vision package and get the wireless BT Home Hub. What a catalogue of mistakes this has been. The hub was fine to start with, but over the past 18 months there have been endless disconnection issues, which then has a knock on effect on the services we pay for with broadband, email and more importantly BT Vision.

I pride myself on my patience, but every time there is an issue, the helpdesk, who struggle to understand you, just simply run through a procedure of checks that I am now so familiar with that I do before I even ring them. This doesn't stop them wasting another hour of my time while they run through them too. This affects me and my husband both personally and professionally as while we are offline he can't work at all.

The offer of a credit note has been made 4 times by BT and we have had to chase this up after not receiving said note 3 times. It really is poor service.

This brings me to my opening point. You may be asking why I still use them and the answer is simple, it is because I have so many things linking to my BT email that I can't bring myself to have to change all the contacts and correspondents that go to it. One more mishap and this could change.

Overall, a really bad experience, so far.

Summary: Stay away if you possibly can

I found these days loyalty to the big boys doesnt pay. Look around for far better deals and service from other companys. If every one did the same then customer service may improve.
